The Malayalam Bible for Android is the first Unicode version available on the platform. It offers the English King James Version (KJV) and American Standard Version (ASV) translations.

Note: For users with Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) devices, it is recommended to change the settings to "Alternate Fix" under Menu -> Preferences -> Unicode Rendering Fix for optimal rendering.

Version 1.1

• If you encounter difficulties updating to the new version, please uninstall the app (Home -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Bible -> Uninstall) and reinstall it. Feel free to contact the developer for any issues.
• For devices running Android v2.2+, it is recommended to install the app on the SD card when available. The content database will automatically be installed in the SD card if present. Therefore, the app requires permission to write to the SD card.
• The app can now be customized through the preferences menu available under the device's menu button.

The available customization options are:

• Languages - Select primary and secondary languages for display.
• Display Layout - Choose from three layout options for displaying multiple versions.
• Font Size - Increase or decrease the content font size.
• Theme - Select one of five background colors.
• Unicode Rendering - In case your device doesn't display Unicode characters properly (e.g., LG Optima), you can try the "Alternate Fix" or "No Fix" options.

The Malayalam content for this app is obtained from "The Complete Malayalam Bible In Unicode Ver 2.4" encoded by Nishad Kaippally. Although it may contain minor errors, any assistance in proof checking would be greatly appreciated. Updates to the content will be released as new versions become available.

The English content for this app is sourced from the public domain.

Disclaimer: Due to Android's lack of support for complex text layout in Malayalam Unicode characters, certain non-standard methods were employed to achieve rendering. These include reordering the Unicode characters on the fly. The author of the Malayalam content does not endorse these non-standard implementations as they conflict with the project's objectives, which aim to cater to over 1.2 billion people.
